Rosie Choueka Memorial Essay Prize 2023-2024: RESULTS
Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2023-2024 PLA annual essay competition in memory of Rosie Choueka. We were very pleased to receive 10 entries this year, and the judges agreed that those essays were of a high quality. We would like to thank our judges: Anthony Woolich, HFW; Kate Gough, Freshfields; Kieran McGaughey, Consultant Solicitor; Lisa Boyd, Eversheds Sutherland and Peter Ware, Browne Jacobson. Thank you also to Rebecca Rees, Trowers & Hamlins, for her assistance in organising the competition. The results are as follows:
- First place – Beth Edwards of Sharpe Pritchard
- Second place – Madeleine Ledger of Bevan Brittan; and
- Third place – John (Ching Jack) Choi of Latham Watkins
The winner will receive £2,000, the runner-up £1,000; and the third placed entrant £500. If you’re a junior lawyer with an interest in public procurement law, do keep an eye out for next year’s competition – details should be announced later this year.
