Procurement Lawyers’ Association next event and Annual General Meeting – Wednesday, 23 March 2022
Dear Members
We hope that you would be able to join us at our next online event and AGM on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.
Our event will commence at 12.30pm with a debate on the theme of “Great Expectations: Can procurement law deliver what is expected of it?” Our panel of experts, Michael Bowsher QC, Jason Coppel QC and Lygia Osepciu will set out their views on issues such as:
- The use of public procurement law as means to furthering public policy objectives: To what extent, if at all, should public procurement law seek to further other public interest goals? Does it matter whether this might compromise the objective of encouraging greater competition on public markets?
- How do you ensure that successful bidders deliver on their promises post-contract conclusion? Should procurement law regulate contract performance?
- How much of a compliance incentive do procurement remedies provide? Is the question of whether or not to cap damages still relevant? Is the CAT approach in Achilles v Network Rail to determining damage liability and quantification of any relevance to public procurement law disputes?
The AGM will commence at approximately 1.30pm.
Further details, including how to register if you haven’t done so already, may be found in our original notice emailed to members.
